USA Today recently analyzed Trump’s executive orders aimed at expediting the development and deployment of nuclear reactors. The regulatory changes in the NRC, intended to accelerate the production of reactors, raise concerns about safety and security. Ernest J. Moniz described scaling nuclear reactors as a “welcome contribution” but raised worries that a reckless approach could “increase safety and security risks.”
