Jonathan Elkind is a Fellow and Senior Adjunct Research Scholar at the Center on Global Energy Policy.
From 2009 to 2014, he worked on international energy and climate issues at the United States Department of Energy, serving ultimately as Assistant Secretary for International Affairs. Before DOE, he created and led Eastlink Consulting, LLC focusing on commercial energy projects in Europe and Eurasia, and also as a non-resident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. Earlier in his career, Elkind focused on energy, environment and economic issues in Europe and Eurasia in positions at the Joint Global Change Research Institute, the National Security Council, the Office of the Vice President of the United States, DOE, and the Council on Environmental Quality.
Elkind holds a Master of Business Administration in Strategy and International Business from the R.H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, a Master of Arts from Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
