Dr. Suyog Padgaonkar is a Project Manager & Contributing Senior Analyst at the Energy Futures Initiative (EFI).
He utilizes his background in scientific research, community engagement, and program development to manage projects that advance equitable clean energy technologies and policies. His graduate research focused on understanding how to control the interactions of nanomaterials with light for energy harvesting and clean fuels. Outside the lab, Padgaonkar organized various outreach initiatives for like-minded students to advocate for science to policymakers and voting-age populations. He also worked with local environmental nonprofits in Chicago and New Jersey to inform their advocacy efforts on environmental justice issues. Immediately before EFI, he was a scientific managing editor for the journals Energy and Energy Policy. Padgaonkar earned his doctorate in chemistry from Northwestern University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in music from the University of Miami.
