Ernest J. Moniz joined TIME‘s Justin Worland for a fireside chat during the opening night of Aspen Ideas in Chicago. They discussed the ongoing Iran war; the necessity of developing affordable, scalable, low-carbon fuels; and the future of decarbonization amid the United States’ changing role on the global stage. Moniz stated, “we will continue to go towards a low-carbon economy, maybe in ways that are a little bit different from what was imagined some years ago.”
