Alex Kizer is Executive Vice President at the EFI Foundation (EFIF).


Kizer (pronounced KI-zer) leads the Energy Innovation Project, which provides transparent data and unbiased analysis on how the American energy innovation system can compete in the 21st century. An expert on energy policy and system modeling, Kizer directs a wide range of EFIF research, including on carbon accounting, demand-side solutions to scale emerging clean energy technologies like hydrogen and low-carbon concrete, and reforming the U.S. Department of Energy. Kizer formerly served as EFIF’s chief operating officer.

Kizer brings more than 15 years of experience advising clients at institutions including Sandia National Laboratories, the National Infrastructure Simulation and Analysis Center, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Defense, as well as energy companies that operate in the Middle East and Europe.

Kizer holds a Bachelor of Arts in public policy from Ohio University and a Master of Arts in international security studies from American University.
